Even with a huge box office, but not as much as expected, the widespread buzz about James Cameron’s magnum opus, Avatar: The Way of Water, refuses to die down. The movie is a sequel to the 2009 monster which was released last week and has taken the world by storm and managed to break record after record and continues to do so. But while we’re all rejoicing in the second installment of the venerable franchise, Cameron has already moved on to the next installment and has three future installments in a row with an equal chance for a third. The news is now in the headlines.
For the uninitiated, it took 13 long years to give us the sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 hit movie Avatar. The movie became the highest-grossing film of all time before that date. Way Of Water entered the arena with the same pressure. But while he’s on his way to his goal now, James has already prepared for the future and is ready with Avatar 3.
According to a report by Giant Freakin’ Robot, the next movie in the pipeline is called Avatar 3: The Seed Bearer. Yes, you read that right. This is the most unique title among the three and cannot be guessed. The fourth is called The Tolkien Rider and the fifth is called The Quest for Ewa. The last two things fit into the scheme of things shown in The Way of Water, but the third does not However, no confirmation has been received on these matters.
Meanwhile, recently, in a conversation with Variety, James Cameron revealed that studios give notes on what bothers them in a script. He revealed that Avatar: The Way Of Water had 3 pages of notes and a third. But there were two words in the room and they were ‘holy f*k’.
“I can’t tell you the details, but all I can say is that when I turned in the script for [‘The Way of Water’], the studio gave me three pages of notes,” Cameron said. “And when I turned in the script for 3, they gave me a page of notes, so it was getting better. When I turned in the script for 4, the studio executive, the film’s creative executive, wrote me an email that said, ‘Shit. And I said, ‘Well, where are the notes?’ He said, ‘Those notes.’ Because he goes crazy in a good way, doesn’t he?”
