Avatar: The Way of Water is an upcoming American epic science-fiction film directed by James Cameron and produced by 20th Century Studios. This is Cameron’s second film in the Avatar franchise since Avatar (2009). Cameron is co-producing the film with John Landway, Josh Friedman was originally announced as Cameron’s co-writer; It was later announced that Cameron, Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno were all involved in the sequel writing process before allocating separate scripts, leaving the final text unclear. With Sam Worthington, Joe Saldana, Stephen Lang, and Giovanni RBC reclaiming their roles from the original film, Sigourney Weaver returns to a different role.
